Circle the Wagen Screening INSIDE the Fox Fullerton Theater!

This Thursday, June 5th, my friend Charlie Pecoraro is hosting a hometown screening of his documentary film Circle the Wagen INSIDE the FOX Theatre in Fullerton.  To my knowledge, this is the first actual screening of a film inside the historic theater since it closed down in 1987.  The fun starts at 5pm with a Vintage Volkswagen car show!  At 8pm, the screening starts, followed by a Q&A with Charlie Pecoraro, & fellow filmmakers.  Tickets are for sale at the door the day of and are only five bucks!

CIRCLE THE WAGEN is a “buddy/road-trip/docu-dramedy” on the vintage Volkswagen subculture in America—that close-knit community for whom the joy of driving is the joy of living. It follows Dave, an idealistic adventurer and automotive ne’er-do-well, and his convivial co-pilot Charlie, on their journey down Route 66 in a ‘72 bus won on eBay for $787. Through countless backfires, blowouts, and breakdowns the heart of the vintage VW community is revealed as they attempt to save “The Croc” from the scrap heap and rally her beleaguered owner on to California.

Charlie Pecoraro, Fullerton native, was born in 1980, at St. Jude Hospital, attended E.V. Free Fullerton, and graduated from Troy High School. Charlie spent his entire childhood at his family’s Italian ristorante, Angelo’s & Vinci’s, which, from 1972-1991, was located ON the actual stage of the Fox Theatre.  The Fox was his playground but when A & V’s moved next door, Charlie didn’t see the inside of his second home till 2003, when the Fox was saved from the wrecking ball by a grass-roots movement he was proud to be a part of. This is a heartfelt homecoming & most certainly a dream come true for him. Charlie is currently living in Burbank, CA and is a working actor, producer, & drummer.

See you Thursday!
