This Friday (12/4) at the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk!

This Friday, December 4th, is the first Friday of the month, and that means that it's the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk!  Here are some of the cool art shows you can check out...

Recent Works by M. Bryan @ Max Bloom's Café / Art Gallery...

BaxSPACE at Max Bloom’s Art Gallery is proud to present the expressive and provocative work of M. Bryan in her debut show at Max Bloom’s Art Gallery. This will be her 2nd year anniversary of her first art showing with curator Baxter.

M. Bryan’s art evokes the feeling of being intimately involved in a moment in time that needs to bear more than one witness. At this exhibit M. Bryan’s art will have work that celebrates the female form, as well as contrasting pieces that illuminate issues of contemporary social justice.

M. Bryan’s mixed media art captures glimpses of time which feel like her subjects’ breath is caught in their chest. As though walking down the street and catching a stranger’s eye, the focus of her work grabs on to your attention and pulls you into a shared moment. Her work shows passion, pain, growth and does so without apology.

M. Bryan’s art will be on display and available for purchase at Max Bloom’s Art Gallery throughout the month of December.

All The Places We've Been: Art Collaborations of Jesse La Tour and Chuck Oldfield @ Hibbleton Gallery

You are cordially invited to the next art exhibit at Hibbleton Gallery, entitled “All the Places We’ve Been: Art Collaborations of Jesse La Tour and Chuck Oldfield. La Tour and Oldfield are co-owners and curators of Hibbleton Gallery. For this show, these two artists will be exhibiting collaborative pieces of their own creation, featuring the photography of Oldfield and the drawing/painting of La Tour! The opening reception is Friday, December 4th, 2015 from 6-11pm during the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk.

The title of this show reflects different ideas about travel: both externally (visiting real geographical places) and internally (exploring new worlds through reading, studying, and watching films). Each piece will be a collaborative meditation on these two ideas of travel. Oldfield’s photographs, taken on his various travels to physical places will be juxtaposed by the drawings and paintings of La Tour, which reflect the mental and emotional landscapes of reading, thinking, and watching foreign films. The show is meant to be an exploration of how art can be a means to express the outer and inner journeys we all take, as we each try to create a mental map of all the places we’ve been.

In addition to co-owning Hibbleton Gallery, Chuck Oldfield is a filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller. Jesse La Tour is an English teacher, doodler, and lover of libraries.
