The April Art Walk is This Friday!

This Friday, April 4th is the first Friday of the month, and that means it's the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk!  Here's a little preview of what's happening at some of the Art Walk venues this month:

Hibbleton Gallery presents “See and Be Seen: A Group Art Exhibition Exploring Mental Health Awareness, Wellness, and Resilience. The opening reception is Friday, April 4th 2014, during the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk.  All art works are created in the Arts Network Artist in Residency Program by art students from Palm Village Board and care in Garden Grove, CA.  The Arts Network promotes mental health wellness, recovery and stigma elimination through arts programming and community outreach. 



The Egan Gallery presents The Beautiful Autism–Art Exhibit and Silent Auction.” April is National Autism Awareness Month and in partnership With Fullerton Cares, Art With An Agenda, and co-curator Janelle Ferrara, 30 local artists are celebrating those in our community who are diagnosed with Autism through the power of art. Up to 50 works of art will be up for silent auction with 100% of the proceeds going a great local non profit named Fullerton Cares.

BOOKMACHINE books + zines presents “Glimpses”: a zine release party + art/music show, featuring the release of  a zine by Garrett La Bonte.  “glimpses” is a collection of interviews and photography that shows moments and experiences in the author's life. GLIMPSES #1 has three interviews:  Christopher Gordon (member of the band Roman Candles), Elliot Babin (drummer of the popular post-hardcore group Touche Amore and the writer/singer/composer of the band Dad Punchers), and Rudy Murillo (bassist of the hardcore punk band New Brigade and is co-creator of the acclaimed punk music festival Destroy L.A).

For one night only, the Neighborhood walls will have $10 signed prints from NYC photographer They Left Ghosts from his 2008 series called Everybody Someday

At Artside Studio and Roadkill Ranch, come view the impressions of more than 25 artists who have submitted art bras or bra-related art to this unique exhibit which will benefit charities that support Breast Cancer research.  A myriad of art styles and genres will be featured in this collection which celebrates and honors those whose lives have been so dramatically affected by this disease. The artists have donated their works to be sold with proceeds to go to their chosen charity.  Written bids will be accepted beginning at Artwalk on Friday, April 4, from 6 to 10 p.m.  Works will be on display at both Roadkill Ranch (119 E. Commonwealth Avenue) and artside studio. 



Monkwood is a California craftsman and designer living the wood life in OC/LA who specializes in reclaimed + hardwood tables + large art installations.   He has a workshop/studio within the thriving Magoski Arts Colony.

Lolo: a Boutique presents the artwork of Jill Bencsits, artist and production designer.  She has done work for countless short and feature length films as well as commercials, music videos, plays and live events.  Jill recently completed designing the Visual Effects Society Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

At Lucero Photography Studio, Jeremy Lucero uses music, acrylics and various techniques to paint a piece right before your eyes. The final LIVE painting will be auctioned at the end of the evening. 10% will go to charity. 
Blanquel Popular Art manufactures custom furniture, iron work, ceramic tile, in the style of Mexican Arts & Crafts.

INTERNAL Gallery & Oddities is a visual arts womb featuring the fine art, handmade apparel and oddities of cross-medium artist Adam Watts. Internal is yours: spend time with art, and if you're inspired: take some with you. LET THE INSIDE OUT.



Luis Sanchez Photography strives to capture the moments of beauty and love between a couple, among family and loved ones.

Comic Book Hideout presents The Great Ungnome, a rag tag team of doodlers that love what they do!  The crew will be featuring both new and classic pieces, and this time they're not alone...Kurt Brizzolara, Sven Stucky, Monica Munster, Casey Cwock, and Drue Detox.


In the Foyer Gallery of the Fullerton Museum Center, check out "Resin: Drawings by Aaron Jones".  The Show Resin is a investigation in to the the memories of the last villains in society. The emotional baggage and mental state of these walking ideas is expressed through metaphors and graphic statements.



Comic Hero University presents the work of artist Andrea Mora.
