In Stitches @ Hibbleton Gallery

The current show at Hibbleton Gallery in Fullerton is called "In Stitches."  It was curated by my friend Lola Bee, and it's basically an embroidery show.  But this is not your grandma's embroidery (Well, technically it is MY grandma's, because my grandma Sally has a piece in the show).  Anyway, the show is all about taking a very old school art medium and making it new.  For me, embroidery is a pretty perfect medium to express the DIY (do-it-yourself) ethos, which we here at Hibbleton fully embrace.  The pieces look very hand-made, and that is why we love them.

If you didn't make it to the opening reception for this show, do not despair.  We are having a closing reception this Saturday, August 24th from 7-10pm!  Hope to see you there!
