Twenty Dudes

My friend Ted Trager has been making a series of zines called "Twenty Dudes."  Basically, they consist of fairly simple drawings of dudes that Ted finds interesting: musicians, artists, writers, philosophers, politicians, etc.  Flipping through the zines is an education.  Recently, I filmed an episode of my internet TV show "Book Talk" with Ted, in which he explained who some of the more obscure dudes are.  I'm still working on editing that, but in the meantime enjoy these dudes:

Street artist Jean-Michel Basquiat...

French postman/Architect Ferdinand Cheval...

British writer/artist/musician Billy Childish...

Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky...

German filmmaker Werner Herzog...

Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser...

Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami...

French painter Augustine Lesage...

American filmmaker David Lynch...

Catholic writer and mystic Thomas Merton...

Fiction writer Breece D'J Pancake...

Science fiction author Philip K. Dick...

Argentinian percussionist Miguel Tomasin...

You can purchase your copy of Twenty Dudes at BOOKMACHINE books + zines in the Magoski Arts Colony.  Stay tuned for the Book Talk: Zine Edition! episode in which we discuss Twenty Dudes!
