I had a lesson plan
prepared for my classes,
something about MLA format.
But yesterday
I saw a documentary
that blew my mind.
So I said to myself:
MLA format can wait,
and showed the documentary instead.
For me, teaching is like jazz, man.
You can prepare and plan,
but you must also make room
for improvisation,
lest you give your students
the impression that
education is about statues
and not living, breating
human beings.
