Alan Lomax

I was doing some research this afternoon on Alan Lomax for a piece I'm writing, and I came across these amazing album covers. Alan Lomax was a pioneer of field recordings in the 20th century. He wandered around America, recording blues singers, folk singers, prisoners, and the music he captured cuts to the soul of America. Check out these sweet covers:

  1. Great album covers. I work for a print shop in the City of Industry that is the only shop in the states that creates old style wrapped jackets... the way they were made in the 60's, 50's, 40's...

We just reproduced the first one you posted, "I'll be so glad when the sun goes down" for Mississippi Records in Portland Oregon. I believe it will be part of a box set of the Alan Lomax recordings. Thought you might be interested.
