My mom works as an instructional aid with autistic kids in Brea, so I am increasingly coming to understand the unique struggles of autistic kids and their families. Because autism is not an obvious physical condition, there is a lot of misunderstanding and fear surrounding it, and Larry's group aims to help create "Understanding, Awareness, and Acceptance."
The upcoming fundraiser is a comedy show featuring some very well-known national comedians. It's headlined by Fullerton's own Brad Williams, and also includes Carlos Mencia, Skyler Stone, George Perez, and Adam Ray.
Aside from the world-class comedians and the great cause it's for, this event will be awesome because it's INSIDE the historic Fox Theater in Fullerton, which was built in the 1920s and designed by the same company that designed the famous Chinese and Egyptian Theaters in Hollywood. The Fox Fullerton still has a ways to go before it is fully restored to its former glory, but it is still astonishing to be inside. They don't build movie theaters like this anymore. The Fox is a local treasure.
