Stitching With My Grandma Sally

My grandma Sally is an artist.  Even since I was little, she has made amazing stitched art in the form of quilts, blankets, and pillow cases for each of her seventeen grandchildren, and I don't know how many great grandchildren.  To this day, despite the fact that she has Parkinson's, she still stitches things for her family.  Last year, she stitched me an amazing cardigan sweater.  It took her three months.

I suppose it's my grandma who inspired me to make stitched art.  Recently, we did some stitching together.  She was working on a pillow case for my aunt Mary, and I was working on a piece for an upcoming exhibit at Hibbleton Gallery, Create Now: An Artistic Tribute to Alan Watts.  

As any stitcher knows, this form of art takes a very long time.  Tonight, I finished my piece, and took some pictures of the process:
